Life is messy. But God.
Another favorite Scripture passage of mine is found in Isaiah 55. To me, this is such a beautiful picture of who God is, and what He desires for us, and what He has for those who turn to Him and follow Him. And with all the feasting imagery, it’s perfect for Thanksgiving week!
Being filled with the peace of God when life is stressful sounds like a cliche and a platitude and an impossible, fanciful thing — and it is, unless we look to God Himself for it.
I have a lot of favorite Scripture passages, but Psalm 107 is up there toward the top of my list. It’s rather long, but the picture of God’s enduring love, grace, and help toward us, no matter what, makes it all worth reading.

What will matter in 100 years, or 1,000? What will matter forever? Will it matter that we were right...Or will it matter that someone you know came to see Jesus for who He is because of how you handled all this craziness right now, looking to Jesus and radiating the peace He promises us?
Things seem an awful mess right now, everywhere and for everyone. I have some experience with mess, so I thought I'd share. I like things neat and tidy. My brain works better when there’s a place for everything and everything’s in its place. And I used to be able to keep things that way -- well, except for the junk drawer(s) and the mail pile. But technically those particular things weren’t meant to be neat and tidy, right? So they didn’t bother me. But then...life happened. Lots of good, some difficult...just, you know, life. And things got messy.
Even if. I woke up with that phrase on my mind last week, and it's been echoing ever since. Even if things look bad. Even if things ARE bad. Even if the worst happens. "The Lord is faithful in all His words, and kind in all His works. The Lord is righteous in all His ways, and kind in all His works."
