Being filled with the peace of God when life is stressful sounds like a cliche and a platitude and an impossible, fanciful thing — and it is, unless we look to God Himself for it.
We certainly can’t manufacture it on our own. Sometimes we can pretend, I guess…but probably not this week!
Today, and this week, when I notice that I’m stressed or worried or anxious, or scowling or rolling my eyes or biting my lip, I’m going to look to the God of peace, and tell Him how I’m feeling (yes, He already knows, but something in my brain forgets that until I actually tell Him), and ask Him to help me trust in Him, and remember who He is.

He wants us to be at peace. All we have to do for that — all we CAN do for that — is look to Him.
“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you.” Isaiah 26:3
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
“Now May the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.” 2 Thessalonians 3:16
