In a dream I found myself in a bleak underworld of suspicion
of conspiracy
of frequently accurate mistrust
of treachery masquerading as help
of anxiety and hopelessness in the knowledge of that truth –
the truth of all the lies.
And when I woke
I knew
My dream was not far from reality in this world.
But
I also knew what I would say
to those living hopeless in that dark world…
and what I will say
to those living hopeless in this dark world:
Even if.
Even if all those wrong things are true,
We have a good God in Heaven Who is working good on this earth for all who are His
Who invites everyone to be His
Who offers us hope instead of despair
Who grants us light in our darkness
Who gives us a heart to love and not to hate
Who will One Day make all things right, all things good, all things trustworthy.
Take heart and look to Him, my friends
Take your heart and give it to Him, my friends.
All this Wrong is proof that there is One who is the Author of Right
and He offers Right to us in Jesus, through Jesus, by the cross of Jesus Christ
Who suffered and died for
all
this
Wrong;
Who, though He had done no wrong, paid the price for
all
this
Wrong
even my Wrong
even yours
and Who rose victorious from His grave
to offer us life even in our death
to offer us goodness even in the bad
to offer us joy even in our pain
to offer us redemption from our due penalty
to offer us freedom from our hopeless slavery to sin and self.
Open your eyes to the eternal, glorious Truth, hopeless and suspicious ones.
Turn to the Truth-teller, the trustworthy One
and be awakened from your cynicism
to the light of certain and glorious and everlasting hope.

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
John 1:5 ESV
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13 NIV
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.
Hebrews 6:19a NIV
Rest in God alone, my soul, for my hope comes from Him.

And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in You.
