Wisdom Series: Proverbs

Anyone else want to be less of a mess?

We all wish we knew more about life, right? We all want to have wisdom and understanding, to know how to behave, to recognize what’s right and avoid what’s wrong. We all want to make good choices, to live well and, if we’re children of God, to please Him and honor Him in our lives. And, being the messes that we are, we all need serious help to do any of those things.

Good news! The Lord gives wisdom.

This will be an ongoing series of short reflections on, reminders of, and pointers to the wisdom God gives us through His Word. I pray the Lord uses them to point us all to the truth and wisdom He has so generously provided!

God Gives Wisdom — But How? (Proverbs 2:6)

“Whoever is Simple, Let Him Turn In Here!” Wisdom or Foolishness? How to Tell (Proverbs 9)

I would expect that foolishness and wisdom would sound different from the start, wouldn’t you? But they start out saying the exact same thing: “Want to be wise? I’ll tell you what you need to know!” How, then, can we tell the difference? Read on to find out.

Dwell Secure, Without Dread (Proverbs 1:32-33)

“…whoever listens to me will dwell secure and will be at ease, without dread of disaster.” Does Proverbs 1:33 mean we will never face disaster or difficulty? No – but there’s good news. Read on to be encouraged.
